I have to tell you, you people have entirely too much time on your hands. At first, I was amused at all the "horror" stories and how Allstate has ruined so many innocent lives. But after awhile, it became sad and pathetic that so many have the time and energy to cry online to millions of people like me, who are sitting at home reading this garbage and laughing at you. If you hate Allstate as much as you say you do, get insurance elsewhere. If you feel you are getting the runaround, let your carrier handle the matter and they will subrogate against Allstate. Your time would be much better served helping the less fortunate or doing some sort of charity work. If you don't work for Allstate, or any insurance company for that matter, you really can't say what goes on within. I do work for Allstate and I know what goes on. You have allot of nerve calling us dishonest. Do you think we have fraud departments because we have extra office space to occupy? Do you honestly think that everyone we talk to tells the truth? If we are the way you say we are, it is because we have to be. People always want something for nothing. Don't complain to me after having your auto policy for 6 years that you thought your deductible was only $1.00 when it comes time to make a claim. You chose your $500.00 deductible, not me. You can read, can't you? We are not jaded as you say, we are disgusted. Allstate does the things they do for reasons other than outlined on this site. If we don't let people take advantage now, maybe down the road we will all see the benefits. Let me say this. I know Allstate is not perfect. We make mistakes, we drop the ball from time to time, but what a wonderful world we would live in if every company or experienec were flawless. Great site. After reading and experiencing how this company raises rates and provides poor customer service -- I just notified them that their services "as my auto insurer were terminated." I got a great rate from a different company and started to save some money. Hell - I would pay higher rates if needed to get away from Allstate - (note that all ohter companies are cheaper)! Send them a note that their services are terminated.

Hi there Oz: I've just read your letter (dated June 17th) to this website, and it seems as if you think that many of us fine professional people over here in the good ole USA are giving these poor little lads at Allsnake a "toughie of a time". Well, it's much like this. Their employees have chosen their profession(s), while opting to work (for "Allsnake"). They're the individuals who are "trained" (by Allsnake) to "lay it on the line" for us law-abiding motorists, thus creating major problems for many fine citizens of this particular nation. Therefore, it should be expected that they "get theirs" once in a while. If you'd take a bit of your valuable "tea time" (to check into the "employee suggestions" file), you'll learn exactly how some of us fine individuals have been treated by some of their "trainees"! A letter (dated 6/2/2002), comes from a (current) Allstate employee, and she appears to sum it up rather well. She stated that she dreads having to work each day, in that you have to "check your heart & soul at the door". Also, she mentioned that she sympathizes with all motorists (filing claims against Allstate) in that they have to listen to their "canned Scripts". If there's Allstate Insurance in your part of the world, I wish you good luck, "old chap". You're gonna' need it!

Good grief!!! Folks.. It sounds like many of you (not all, I said many) have a lot of other problems that are not related to your experiences with Allstate. Granted, Allstate is extremely (and I mean extremely) difficult company to deal with and I have had several problems with them on a professional level. For that, I can sympathize. The adjusters and employees who work there are beat up (verbally by insureds) on a daily basis...some well deserved and some not. These people are not Satan's spawn; they're just people trying to earn a paycheck and not get fired. It's the process the company puts them through that makes it difficult for you, me and even the adjuster you're dealing with a Allstate. I'm not an ex-employee of Allstate, nor would I consider working there. However, in working with their adjusters on a regular basis, I see how they operate. The adjusters at Allstate are simply doing what they're told to do. It's not the adjuster versus you, the claimant. However, the abuse they take on a regular basis has jaded many of them and most of them probably don't like their job very much...but again...it's decent money and they cope. Basically, it's a tug of war...you the claimant/insured pulling on one end and the company pulling on the other and the adjuster's in the middle. That's why some of you people have dealt with unfriendly, dispassionate representatives. Do yourself a favor and educate yourself about the insurance you buy, what you're covered for and what you're not. Be informed and don't think that insurance is there to collect a lottery check from. It's you the insured/claimant making the claim...have your ducks in a row and know what you're talking about. Your Allstate adjuster may be jaded, somewhat misguided and brainwashed by the company but they're definitely not mind readers nor are they evil. As for those unrelated problems, it's only insurance...you have choices out there...so chill out, drink a beer, have more sex and relax...we have too much hate in the world as it is.

As a previous employee of Allstate in the National Support Center I was able to take in a great taste of what insurance was truly all about. After processing countless indemnity policies I realized that it is not those who post multiple claims or repeatedly draw huge checks who pay the premiums. It is those of us who never claim losses. I have realized that in order to truly be "covered" one would have to make multiple high dollar claims. I as a young driver pay outrageous premiums while drivers (especially females) over 30 can draw thousands of dollars worth of claims and pay less than half of my yearly premium. I was an employee for nine months while I put myself through school to pursue a career in Fire and EMS. My purpose in life I feel is to help others and for the better of 9 months all I ever did was rip others off. We purchase insurance policies because in most states it is the law. Insurance companies know that their product is a necessity, so the premiums they charge are only limited by the lower rates of other companies in the same business. Insurance premiums are like charging a starving man thousands of dollars for a hamburger because you know he will pay. This country is run by insurance companies and it keeps going down hill. Insurance is the largest "legal" money making scam in America and we are powerless against it.

I think it's great that you have a website like this. Unfortunately, I work for an Allstate call center. OK, before you start booing me though, I don't agree with their business practices. I've been in the call center for almost 2 years, and slowly but surely I'm learning just how horrible Allstate is. Customer Service Rep's discuss all the time about how Allstate is jacking their customers around. I don't know about the Claims Department though. I don't work there. I do know as a Customer Service Rep., I'm caring and I don't take on the attitudes of what I've been reading about. I'm often apologizing for what Allstate has done to people and I file many complaints everyday about the across the board increases that Allstate decides to do. Allstate gets permission from each state insurance commissioner to increase the rates. I would suggest filing a complaint there too. From what I've learned for the reason why Allstate increases rates is to pay out for claims. Basically people, all insurance companies are crooked. I hear complains from people who have State Farm as well as other insurance companies. Good luck to everyone trying to find an insurance company that won't jack them around and be dishonest. As for myself, I'm looking to get out of the insurance business for I don't want represent dishonest companies. Frankly, I'm tired of being chewed out for Allstate's business policies. I have recently joined the club as someone being "used" by the Allsnake Insurance Company. Their slogan of "being in good hands" means that the hands are in your pocket for premiums, and then around your throat when you need their assistance. Almost two weeks ago, a tree fell on my house. To date, I have yet to see any- one from the Allstate Insurance company, nor have I received any assistance from them in dealing with the damage to my house. I have an 11 month old baby, and my wife is 8 months pregnant, and I have enough to deal with already, and you would "assume" that an insurance company employs professionals and you pay premiums for the purpose of having them assist you. Well, the Allstate [Allsnake] Insurance company needs to have "customer service" explained to them, because they don't have a clue as to its meaning!

I was told my new allstate policy was going to be paid in monthly payments...a month later I get a bill for a lump sum of $969. Doesn't seem like much, but I'm a student...anyways My ex-agent freely admitted that he promised something he could have never done for me. Glad to see this site. Allstate has low balled me and continues to deny claims. My agent also my friend is right there in the act. She has purposefully not added coverages to my policy that I have requested. I had over 7900.00 in out of pocket expenses that should have been covered. To date only 3800.00 have been paid. After 8 months of denials, they finally paid for my MRI and doctors bills. My medications have still not been paid. Was Allstate agent for 16 years. Left in 6/2000. Did not buy book of business. Took severance pay. Started independent agency, and love every minute of it. great site!!!! add Sentry Insurance Sucks. The company logo is the man with a gun. What they don't tell you is the man sticks it in your face. I'm an Exclusive Allstate Agent (I own my agency) I'm expanding my agency into a Independent Agency because Allstate is not only a crook when it comes to its clients, their a crook when it comes to the agents. If you have one claim Allstate will terminate your policy. I have clients who have been with Allstate for 40 years and for a $500 claim their policy is being cancelled. You can't tell me Allstate hasn't made money off these people. Now Allstate is pushing banking and investments. First of all why would anyone want to trust their life savings to an insurance company when TRUE investment companies are better trained. They want us agents to take a course on the computer and then advise you on the investing of your money. I wouldn't trust Allstate with a penny of mine and I've been with them for years. Allstate Insurance company is a good company, I have grown up with Allstate, meaning my father is a agent and now I am working in the claims department. There is no use in crying over spilled milk Allstate is a company therefore they need to make a profit. I don't see why you people have it so against Allstate. I too have been victimized and abused by Allstate. I was in an auto accident in '97 and they don't seem to think they should pay for any medical bills or expenses after the first 2 years. I think this site is a great forum for victims of Allsnake. I felt like I was the only one, but now I see there are thousands of us! I have not read any comments so far regarding claims for children, so I guess I'm the first. This is the most terrible fight I've ever had on my hands. Also, I've seen a lot of people going to State Farm. My only experience with them was at 17. I had a fraudulent agent who sold me a whole life insurance policy when I purchased my very first auto policy because he said I had to carry life ins. if I wanted to carry auto. I found out this was false, and became a member of a class action lawsuit against them. I am not knocking State Farm as a whole, but young people beware. I'm sure there are many agents like this one, however I figure they all work for Allstate.

I'm a Bad Faith Expert Witness with over 29 years experience as a Senior Claims Adjuster and since about 1989 have had several hundred bad faith cases. Allstate definitely leads the list with State Farm close behind. Your website is excellent. I guess I'm just one of the herd who's been f***ed by Allfake. Hit by an AS-insured motorist. Tried to recover my losses of $1533. Received payment of $78 after almost a month. After several increasingly frustrated letters and calls all the way up to the Corporate Office, I got an offer of $360. Ignored it and got an attorney. They tried to bluster their position for almost a year, but ended up paying the original amount owed me, plus another $14,000 in 'damages' and legal fees. If their stock tanks, we all know why.

This website has been very informative to me. I am shopping for life insurance and figured on Allstate since they have carried my car insurance for over 9 years and my parents' multiple policies forever. I discovered this site when I typed "Allstate" in AOL search. After reviewing the comments and complaints I will not even bother researching their website for life insurance policies AND am going to look for alternative car insurance as well. I do not have any major complaints about Allstate but, of course, have never had any major claims. I just pay the bill when it comes in the mail because anytime I've ever called to ask questions, they send me notification of a rate increase. I figured it was best to leave them alone or pay the consequences. If it's one thing I can't stand it's getting screwed over and looks to me like it will only be a matter of time.

Dealing with Allstate Insurance is extremely distressing. I am more than shocked to see how corporations similar to this make revenues. Lies, tricks and filthy strategies involve their daily behavior. Allstate stole me $6,586.57, and NASTY Progressive Insurance took $22,383.12 from me. I am quite wealthy, and I had this problems with claims of a Porsche Turbo and a Mercedes. The reasons for them not covering are long and complex to explain, however the way these corporations handdled the issue left a lot to wish. I RECOMEND State Farm, Geico and others, but these inconsistent insurers (ALLSTATE & PROGRESSIVE) reflect the filthy employees and owners they have. NOW I UNDERSTAND THE REASON WHY THERE ARE ANTI-SOCIALS, TERRORISTS, AND PSYCHOS. BECAUSE THEY ARE SICK AND TIRED OF BEING ABUSED, EXPLODED, AND STOLEN BY BIG CORPORATIONS. Yea it does!! I called to make payment on our account with customer service after receiving a cancellation notice. She took all the info and never processed the payment. 2 weeks later I got in an accident. When calling in my claim, they said the policy was cancelled!!!! When I called cust care to see why the pmt was not processed they called me LIAR!! I said I can prove I called on that day and the time with my call records from my house, but they said that does not prove that I gave my CC information. So, I went to the office and payed the full amount cash to get the policy reinstated. Still, they have the odassidy to say that it was lapsed for 10 days, and they won't pay a cent! So, I got FUCKED!! I had to pay to repair the motorcycle that wrecked into me because I was uninsured, and to repair my own car. Over $10,000 in all !!! Thanks Allstate for the great fuck.

ALL-Snake has gotten so lousy particularly with mold related claims I was forced to move from Washington State. I was there expert testing homes and inspecting the homes for toxic mold. They literally would find any reason to deny the claim or get the client to breach there contract by not informing the insured the they had to provide a proof of loss in 60 days. Now we are fighting back. My friend and I started a service, she has 16 years of doing fire damage claims and knows how to protect the consumer. I have 18 years in the science side of claims. My car recently was hit by a policy holder of Allstate. My insurance company told me to try to go through Allstate first. Against my better judgement, but since I had no doubt their holder was responsible, I did so. I even have a police report that clearly states the Allstate driver was at fault for improper land change. Without even finishing their "investigation," they have decided that I am partially at fault because I should have been able to avoid the accident! No one has looked at the vehicle, no one has looked at where the accident occured. I was told their obligation was to their insured it doesn't matter who is at fault. My insurance company is sending them at letter and my attorney is waiting for my go ahead to go after them. I should have known they would try to weasel out of the claim, ten or more years ago, one of their insured hit my husbands van. This happened at an intersection where a police officer was directing traffic. The officer was jumping up and down trying to get Allstate's insured to stop, but she plowed right into us. Allstate tried to blame that one on us too, until they found out a cop was the witness! DON'T BUY ALLSTATE.

Right on!!!!! Someone finally standing up. A lady hit me(she recieved a nice citation I might add) about 9 years ago and unfortunately she had Allstate Ins. I had 3 weeks of getting the "run around" from their claims office. No one would call me, not even one phone call!!! Finally, after threatening to get a lawyer they offered a quicky settlement. It is very unfortunate that an insurance company handles their claims this way.

As an Allstate Insurance Agent I find this site rather humorous. Everyone has a right to share there thoughts, but in fact who like insurance, that would be no one. However every insurance company has dropped the ball a time or two. Just like all you people have made errors at your place of work, there just isn't a site to scream about.
