FORMER Allstate Employee

I am a former Allstate employee who - as they state it - "voluntarily resigned". I worked AGAINST Allstate for two months trying to save my job. Allstate has an independent vendor who handles their short term disability claims who some of you may recognize as well - THE HARTFORD. In short, after sending me through loops and bounds for weeks, I was placed on a personal leave of absence (which I disagreed with since this is the companies way of getting rid of someone initially when they haven't had the time to fully get information for a medical leave) while arguing my way through appeals with The Hartford to receive short term disability for a mental illness. In the end - I had all of my papers in, I had turned them in to The Hartford for the appeal as requested, BUT my local Allstate employer stated I had not given THEM the information needed and as stated in my leave of absence forms my termination would be listed as "voluntary resignation" basically cutting off all benefits to further diagnose my illness. What they didn't mention was that I had asked my local HR SEVERAL times, VIA EMAIL, if they needed to see these documents and I never once received a request or reply stating they needed documentation. Basically at this point I am in one final appeal where The Hartford hands my claim back to Allstate to review so that they basically won't go down alone. If this final appeal is denied, I will have lost my jobs and all benefits the company claimed PROTECTED me. This all seemed to start when I requested an ADA accommodation. Suddenly they weren't so willing to help me - information started becoming vague and returned phone calls became unheard of. Sensing the company was at work on a shady way to "legally" terminate my employment, I took everything to writing via email - no longer using the phone as a means of communication. That is when ALL communication stopped and the last thing I received was an email and a certified later explaining my "voluntary resignation". The truly baffling part is The Hartford refusing to recognize a mental illness on the grounds that follow: My concentration was intact on my initial visit with my psychiatrist. My speech was normal on my initial visit with my psychiatrist (for the rest of the list, assume that each recognized trait ends with "on my initial visit with my psychiatrist" My appearance was well groomed. I was not suicidal. I was not hallucinating. My symptoms on the GAF scale were listed as a 55 and it meant moderate symptoms. Because of the lack of physical symptoms with my MENTAL ILLNESS - they claimed that by their plan standards (which they have yet to let me see)I did not suffer from a mental illness that could keep me out of work. Never mind the fact that I was having panic attacks all the time, and the very environment was becoming uncomfortable because of the idle chatter behind my back dealing with my absences and the nature of my illness. My manager ignored countless requests to stifle the chatter as it was humiliating and made the work environment unbearable. When I took this over my manager’s head, I was again ignored being told they would "discuss the situation with my manager" and yet - the discussions continued. In the end, I couldn't get out of bed in the morning, my panic attacks were frequent, and I went to the local HR to seek assistance with a telecommuting accommodation via the ADA. I was out of FMLA, and getting short term disability coverage as I have stated above was like pulling teeth. This was when the company made their move, and took me out with ease. The contacted The Hartford to move my initial appeal forward quickly and the quick and shoddy examination showed as they even missed my diagnosis of panic disorder. They mentioned the severe depression but stated that basically ... that wasn't enough since I wasn't hospitalized OR showing physical symptoms AT THE TIME OF MY PSYCHIATRIC EVALUATION, of a disorder. It isn't my nature to publicly trash a company, but Allstate Insurance deserves it from all angles. I worked in a department trained to assist agents in operating the ALSTAR system which is used to write new business. I later moved to a department which helped Allstate employees and claims examiners with their computer issues. In all fairness I will tell you that claim examiners and agents do what they can within their power. All negative push should be given back to Allstate's Home Office - NOT - the representatives. In working with ALSTAR, I know first hand how coming in from a nonstandard company (e.g. smaller insurance companies such as GEICO or Progressive) Allstate automatically requires a down payment where as people from standard companies can come in and do COD or billing methods. Also, when coming from nonstandard, you vehicle has to be inspected by the agent where as coming from a standard company - no inspection is required. Also - you are automatically place on a line 19 (indemnity) if you were not with the nonstandard for at least 3 years which far exceeds the fees and rates of a line 10 (preferred/normal) policy - no matter how good your mvr (motor vehicle report), and no matter how good your credit. Most of our calls came from furious agents who were having to charge YOU the consumer unreasonable rates for something so trivial. In short, whether you work for the company or are insured by them - there are FAR too many reasons AGAINST THEM to stay where you are. If you're wronged - good luck finding someone who will speak for you in court. Presently I am getting mental health organizations and doctors on my side which presents a stronger case. SO FAR SO GOOD - but consider this a warning - and watch your back. Allstate is not on your side - they should rename to Hellstate - it's much more appropriate.

Amazed Allstate employee here: My point is this. No matter who answers the phone or where they are is not the point. People are sooooo stupid they honestly get pissed off when they can't speak to Bill Gates, Pres. Bush and even Ed Liddy. They come to this forum and complain about it. That's ridiculous. Whoever you get when you call asking for Ed Liddy is not going to let you speak to him. They are instructed to handle the problem or refer it to someone other than the friggin' CEO. It doesn't matter if they are on moon or sitting on Liddy's lap when you call, YOU AINT TALKING TO HIM. As far as your comments regarding me getting laid off, I say this. It could happen while working for Allstate or any other large corperation, I just don't know. What I do know is that if I do ever get laid off, I won't be calling Ed Liddy to complain because I am smart enough to realize, HE WON'T COME TO THE PHONE!!!!!

Dear Amazed Allstate Employee, It is true that you would not speak with President Bush nor Bill Gates if you were contacting the White House or had a problem with Windows software however, would you appreciate being lied to about the position of your contact person? The point is Allstate lies about the location of the person answering the call coming into the CEO's office. The people acting as Mr. Liddy's executive personnel have never even met the man. They are underpaid customer service reps who have to try to solve a problem that Mr. Liddy would not even know where to start with. I know this as a fact being an ex-employee of Allstate in Farmingville, New York. Maybe you still work for a good part of Allstate and if you do your days are probably numbered too! We would be anxious to hear what you have to say once your time to get laid off comes.

Hello everyone, We are a General Contracting Service that specializes in both residential and commercial Property Restoration / Reconstruction. We also support a "Research and Knowledge Management" division. Over the last 9 years, here in Texas, we have been involved in numerous restoration projects. Out of necessity we have composed a "A Consumer Insurance Claim Guide & Questionnaire for Insurance Agents" that answers questions based on consistent "Issues" that come up after an "Incident" that will lead to an Insurance claim. We feel, these questions, properly addressed, will help all (Policy Holding or Not) Home Owners, Business Owners and Automobile Owners before, during, or even after an "Incident". The questions are direct, and designed for "Plain Language" answers from Insurance agents and, if necessary, their Insurance companies. We are, of course, asking for a modest donation to cover the printing and postage. You may decide the amount. $10+ is a suggested amount. We will return your donation (on return of the questionnaire) if you feel the knowledge was not helpful. Our mailing address is P.O. Box 40153 South Padre Island Texas, 78597. Please Do Not Send Cash. Please clearly print your return address. Any check or money order can be made out to: "Public Issues Publications" or e-mail us at PublicIssues@hotmail.com The Questions, and built-in "Issues", are very "common" (once a claims "process" begins) and are designed for you, or someone you know, to negotiate for what they have been promised / paying for (or will pay) as insurance protection through their premiums. The inherently included principles can also be applied to other types of insurance / claims needing settlement. We are certain you will find the "A Consumer Insurance Claim Guide & Questionnaire For Insurance Agents" very helpful as your insurance "issues" unfold... P.S. Please make sure your Agent (or potential agent) signs off on the questionnaire and states (at the end of the questionnaire) the insurance company they have used as a guideline to answer the questions. If they need to send the questionnaire to their insurance company/s...keep a copy for your records. Also, please mail us back an agent answered and agent acknowledged (signed) copy of the questionnaire for our records and case study being assembled. Remember this...You are entitled to the questions being answered by your agent / insurance company. They are being paid for a service that is critical to your well being at many levels. Expect nothing less than respectful and timely cooperation. -Thanks and Take care.

Mr. Liddy, My name is Crystal Chrislip, I have tried calling you, but your receptionist refused to let me talk to you. It has been 7 months, my home had 2 explosions on 12-16-01, 1 week before Christmas. Your personal adj. refused to go in my home and itemize, she said she had a seizure disorder, and that the home was too unstable, yet I have the same seizure disorder, and I am disabled (walk with cane/use wheelchair) yet she had me and my husband go in the home and itemize. which we did. your structure adj. offered 55,000 and told us to do it ourselves. yet when we hired a contractor, they stated that was not even close to being enough to start. your structure adj. also stated that we had to give away our animals which did survive, in order for allstate to put us up in a home, which buy the way was 30 miles away, and was known for drive by shootings. I tried to work things out with allstate, I tried for app. 4 months, I finally had to get a public adj. who is having the same problems as my family. I offered a pack. that would benefit allstate, but for some reason, allstate did not except. in fact, it wouldn't be fair to my family, but it would be enough for my family to get on with our lives. what should I tell my 4 small children (under 7 yrs old) when they ask why can't they have a home again. I am so frustrated with allstate that I have contacted the news, and they will be airing how allstate cheats their customers, you could prevent it all, if you'd just listen to my proposal, and write my checks, so I can cut my losses and get on with our lives. maybe you should contact your adj. and see what the offer is, since you won't take my calls, and see why the news station is involved. like I said the offer would have benefited allstate not my family, but I was, and for the short time longer (a few days) am still willing to except this offer, if not we will go on the news, because they are extremely wanting this story, and I'll tell them everything if this wrong is not made right.

Ed Liddy, you should be ashamed of your sorry self for what you did to the 12-16 employees last week in Jackson, Mississippi. The person who had the least seniority that was fired was with Allstate 18 years, everyone else had been there longer. Allstate made these employees think they were going to a meeting at the Hilton Hotel in Jackson. They were met by the heads of human resource, and informed they were terminated for a non legitimate excuse. They tried to hide the real reasons, but everyone knows that they were trying to save a couple of bucks as these employees who gave their lives to Allstate for a minimal of 18 years were making more money and were close to retirement. Allstate ruined these peoples lives by ending the dream of finally being able to retire with benefits, stopping all medical, dental, vision etc., benefits. Stopping life insurance, long term disability etc., in which these people paid premiums for at least 18 years. Allstate wants to hide the real reason (money, profit etc.) of why they fired these employees. It is funny how newer employees making a substantially less than the older employees, were not fired. But for these younger employees, beware, Allstate will do this to you once you become elderly, unable to find another job elsewhere because of your age and the higher salaries for the years of dedicated service. Allstate ruined these peoples lives after all these years of service. Ed Liddy, you should be ashamed of yourself. Judgment day will come for you and you will have to face your maker, who sure will put you in your place and you will burn in %%%%, AND LIDDY, DON'T ACT INNOCENT AND KNOW THAT YOU ARE DOING THESE TO THE ELDERLY EMPLOYEES AT ALLSTATE, THE DISABLED EMPLOYEES, ETC. YOU COULD STOP THIS TIME OF ILLEGAL ACTIONS, BUT YOU ARE LOOKING AT PROFIT RATHER THAN PEOPLES LIVES. IT IS FUNNY HOW ALLSTATE DID THE WORST IN YEARS, BUT YOU GOT THE HIGHEST BONUS EVER. I HOPE YOU ARE SUED INDIVIDUALLY WITH THE COMPANY BY ALL THOSE EMPLOYEES IN MISSISSIPPI AND BY THE OTHER EMPLOYEES IN DIFFERENT STATES IN WHICH I KNOW YOU DID THE SAME THING. I HOPE YOU GET JAIL TIME FOR WHAT YOU DID AND THE GOVERNMENT INVESTIGATES YOU AND ALLSTATE FOR YOUR CRIMINAL ACTS.

I don't known if anyone knows this, but Ed Liddy is a Scientologist. To anyone unfamiliar with scientology, this may be insignificant. I would suggest you learn about it. The main purpose of a scientologist is to take control of a situation & make it benefit the church. When they get hold of a corporate head, they have a gold mine. Ed Liddy has an obligation by contract with the church to produce profits for the church. He signed this long ago. The only way you get into this church is to sign a contract that guarantees that the proceeds from your job or position will go to the church. What It all comes down to is, the employee, & the policy holders all suffer, in order to provide more money to make the church of scientology more profitable & more powerful. Think about it. Ed Liddy destroyed Sears, before he came to Allstate. It took a long time to rebuild after he was gone, In fact , he's the one who made Allstate spin off from the Sears Corporation. Now he's back. It is time to make him go away. If he wants to make money for himself & his church, Let him. He needs to stop doing it at the employee & policy holder's expense.

May 14, 2002
Mr. Liddy:

On March 29, 2002 we left our condo in Naples, Florida to head north to our home in Toledo, Ohio. Upon departing our condo we performed our normal procedures, which are disconnecting all appliances, including lamps, television, telephones anything that has an electrical outlet. We cover our toilets with plastic wrap, close all drains in sinks and bathtubs, set our Humidistat at 55%, turn on the air conditioner to 78 and finally we turn off the main water valve. A week after we arrived home we called our sister in law, who lives, two doors down from us in the same building, to check and make sure that we did in fact turn everything off and that the Humidistat and Air Conditioner were operating, which she did. On April 24, 2002 we received a phone call from our brother and sister in law telling us they had gone in to check our condo and found it had been damaged from a water leak from the upstairs unit. My sister in law stated that when she went into the unit she noticed mold on the walls and upon further investigation found that the closet ceiling in the guest bedroom had collapsed and the area directly below the upstairs guest bathroom was fully involved with mold and mildew. She immediately contacted the President of our association who had to break into the unit upstairs, which was vacant at the time, to find the leak and turn off the water in that unit.

We immediately called our insurance agent and were contacted the next day by the claims department. She, Sharon Puccio informed us that they would get an adjuster out there as soon as they could and they would also have a company come in and test the mold before they would send a cleaning company in to start work. She even gave us the name of the cleaning company they would be using. She stated that normally what they do is go ahead and take care of the problem and then collect from the responsible party. We asked Ms. Puccio if we should fly down to Florida and she told us “No, you will not be allowed to go into the unit, there is nothing you can do”. On May 9th, two weeks after we filed the claim, we received a phone call from Scott Detwiler, who was the adjuster who actually went out to the unit, telling us that the insurance company is mailing us a denial of our claim. I should probably add that during all our conversations with Sharon Puccio, she was always very arrogant and treated is in a very demeaning manner. Her reply when we called and asked for an explanation as to why we were being denied was that it was continuous or repeated seepage or leakage over a period of weeks and that Allstate does not cover continuous leaks. When I explained to her that the leak did not start in our unit and would not have been discovered for weeks because it would take that long for it to show on our ceilings and walls. She said, “It’s not their fault that we don’t have someone checking your unit more often.” If we were living in the unit it would have taken weeks before we would have noticed it.

It also says in the section that she was quoting from, that the seepage, meaning continuous or repeated seepage or leakage over a period of weeks, months or years of water, steam, or fuel from a plumbing, heating, air conditioning or automatic fire protection system within the condominium, it was not within our condominium, but the one upstairs. In the denial letter it states that they do not cover losses when the insured person fails to take all reasonable steps to save and preserve property when the property is endangered by a cause of loss they cover. Does that mean we are obligated to check every unit in our building to see that they are not a threat to our unit? I think that’s called breaking and entering!

It does clearly state that it covers damage from water or steam that escapes from a plumbing, heating or air condition system, an automatic fire protection system, or from a household appliance due to accidental discharge or overflow. It does not cover loss to the system or appliance from which the water or steam escapes. This in my opinion applies to our situation, not the section noted by Ms. Puccio.

We did, in fact, do everything within our power to protect our condo during our absence and are suffering damage to our unit because of a mishap at a neighboring unit and to make matters worst we are also being victimized by Allstate Insurance Company.

This condo was bought with our life savings and we took out a mortgage on our home in Ohio. We can’t afford to take out another mortgage, my husband is retired and we are too old to start over! All we are asking is for you to do the right thing.

Michael & Janet Duhaime

Well I've been with Allstate for 5 long years. I had a pipe burst and it caused damage to my master bathroom. I couldn't leave my house a mess so I cleaned it up and when the adjuster came out he said there was no damage. The reason why he didn't see anything was because the sheet rock was gone. You see this happened after I went to bed and the sheet rock soaked it up over night and when I saw it the next morning it had just turned into sludge. Well anyways they cut me a check for 224,56 and I'm not cashing it if I have to spend $500,00 of my own money in legal fees to watch them lose in court I will just for the pleasure.

Just to let you know that your insurance company is the pits. We plan to drop allstate home and auto insurance after being with you for 15 years for home and 17 for auto. We filed a claim for hail damage to our home. Your adjuster came out "IN THE RAIN" and supposedly inspected our house. I truly would like to know that miracle of how every house in our neighborhood has hail damage but us. However, that isn't even the problem here. We asked for a second inspection because we didn't feel the first one was fair. We were refused. We were told that they DO NOT GIVE SECOND INSPECTIONS. If we doubt this we must take it to arbitration? What is your problem here? Do you not care about loyal customers? I guess NOT.

How do I contact a claim representative if no one answers a phone? All that has been happening is the person who answers the phone keeps forwarding to someone else, and to someone else and so on. If I need to get a lawyer involved, I will, but why would your company want to pay for additional charges instead of just paying the $500.00 to close the claim?

I questioned losses from Sep. 11 in a full page letter to Allstate upper management. (( New York and it's tremendous loss of Life , Buildings and Autos if covered by insurance will be extraordinary in claims , however if claims are processed duplicating an Allstate experience , the pay out will be little or none . Should My Three ( 3 ) Consecutive Unpaid Claims enrich the potential of a news worthy event ? in collateral with the claims in New York , would it be patriotic to share My misfortune with Others so they will not waste Five Years thanking an insurance co. will voluntarily pay claims ? )) I may absorb a loss of three consecutive unpaid claims for not signing up an attorney , but others in New York disaster should not be subjected to a misunderstanding , Should they sign up an attorney immediately ? will they also get the shaft if they don't ? )) As whether or not Allstate has suffered financial decline from Sep. 11 , perhaps We should look at Allstate stock price for the month of Aug. prior to Sep. 11 , also in Oct. And compare it to present stock price .

You will get yours, maybe not on this Earth, but you will pay.

My spouse has put in many hours and years with your company, Mr. Liddy. There has been blood, sweat and tears put in for your BIG bonus at the end of the year. Where is our bonus? Allstate has screwed my spouse and it is going to end. Not only will you lose a good, hard working employee, but you will lose our business as well. That's several money making policies that keep your shareholders happy. One of these days you are going to wake up and find out that making your employees and policy holders at least feel happy was the way to go. But, hey, what do I know? I am just glad to be getting out while the getting is good...Ed, you bite the big one!

I'm an Exclusive Allstate agent ( I own my agency). Ed Liddy has said the agents are the core of Allstate business and they will remain so and he would do nothing to put the agents in danger. Bull Shit. Mr. Liddy stated on Bloomberg Network that Allstate was going the way of GEICO, no agents. Also Allstate is non renewing a lot of policies, canceling them for claims or raising there rates 150% so they will not have to pay us agents for our business. Allstate wants to get into the financial business, banking and investments. People would be insane to trust their life savings to an underhanded company like Allstate.

I have had home insurance with Allstate since 1996 and never filed a claim until 2001, when I filed two small claims - a total of about $2500. Now I receive a letter that because of these two claims they will not renew my home insurance. I will never recommend All state to anyone.

During the past year my wife and myself have attempted to bring our fire claim to a close. I cannot pinpoint why this company will not settle with me in due time. We approach the one year date of the fire and the statutes will expire. It leaves me little or no choice but to pursue legal council. We have followed all of the policies and returned our end of the paper work within three months of our loss. The company does not return phone calls. It must be policy. If you need to speak to someone ask to speak to a person and not an answering machine. Sometimes you have to wait thirty minutes or longer, but this seems the only way one can get through. If they promise you a conference call it wont happen. We waited all day and no one called. Be prepared to constantly badger the agents and the supervisors for some results and restitution. Liddy your troops failed for me. Yes allstate sucks!

Mr. Liddy,

My husband and I received a letter from our Allstate agent on February 23, 2002, stating "We (Allstate) do not currently have any policies providing coverage for your primary residence, either through a homeowner's policy or a renter's policy".

Further stated, "Allstate has informed me that customers that insure only their automobiles with us (Allstate) but do not have any residential insurance have greater claim frequency."

This letter goes on to state how our agent would gladly give us a quote. And, as an alternative to higher premiums, she would assist us in avoiding this change by offering us a Homeowner's insurance policy as well as our auto coverage.

We recently refinanced our home in Texas and Allstate was offered an opportunity at that time to be competitive with the Homeowner's policy rates, since our home was then currently insured by Allstate. They choose to be hundreds of dollars a year higher than the one we choose to cover us and offered less coverage for their higher quote.

In addition, we own a home in Baltimore, Md which is currently insured by Allstate with a renter's policy. I have to assume that Allstate doesn't consider this coverage valid anymore.

In conclusion, is appears that Allstate, after many years of business, has decided to exercise extortion on our family or propose that we take our business elsewhere. It apparently hasn't been lucrative enough for your company.

You got it! We will be going elsewhere with our business and consulting counsel about those extortion tactics used in the letter we received as well.

Sincerely,

Cheryl Mellott

After 20 years with Allstate and only 3 claims filed (two very minor) Allstate demanded we pay our full premium of $830.21. We had been paying on a 3 month basis but due to an error on Allstates part our file indicated we had 3 times let our policy expire. Even after our agent (who just happened to retire three months ago) told the main office they had made a mistake, the main office said they didn't care they wanted the whole thing right now. We are now in the process of finding a new insurance company.

I received a response from Liddy's office. Here it is:

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for contacting us in regard to your Automobile Policy #XXXXXXX. We consider all concerns to be our highest priority, and we appreciate the opportunity to respond. We have filed a Home Office Complaint on your behalf, and do understand you have since secured insurance through another carrier. If we can be of any further assistance in the future, please feel free to contact us at (847) 402-5448. -end letter_

Interesting. Allstate is filing a complaint on my behalf. Right. A doctor will file a malpractice suit on my behalf. Are they kidding?

As to the complaint from Luis in Japan...I would just give it up and look elsewhere. I wouldn't expect Allstate to give a damn about our military.

I'm in the military, stationed overseas. My wife and I left our car in the care of my sister-in-law. About a month ago, while the car was parked, our car was involved in a hit and run. The suspects till this day aren't found. My problem is that, my auto coverage lapsed in that time frame. I never received a payment notice, notice of cancellation, or renewal. I'm in Japan and with the current national crisis, my mind slipped in regards to monthly payments. I did send in a payment in, in good faith, not knowing what total amount was due. All State said that regardless if I received anything or not, (notices), I wasn't covered. They told me that under the special circumstances, the mail is slow, (me not receiving a bill, or notice of cancellation), but they wouldn't except that same excuse from me. Is there something that can be done? Or am I out of luck. They new my family and I was going to Japan and that there might be problems, they assured me not to worry. Please help me.............

After being a loyal Allstate customer for 14 years (my parents have been with them for 34 years) I am voting with my wallet and dropping them like a rock. In all that time, I have had one speeding ticket, and one car-related incident that cost them a flat $500.00. Throughout the years, my premiums have gone up from time to time, however I was under the impression that Allstate was some great, responsive company so I stayed. I was wrong. A week ago somebody attempted to steal our car by prying open the window, pealing back the steering column, and wrecking the ignition. After calling Allstate, they advised us that a “Claims Adjuster” would come out to inspect the damage. Since this was my wife' only means of transportation, I tried to impress upon the agent that we needed it fixed right away as we both work, and she needed it to go to and from work. To make a long story short, we were consistently misled as to both what would be covered due to the incident, and how much Allstate would be willing to pay. If you factor out how much I alone have funneled into their coffer, compared to what they have paid out, it would appear to me they have a pretty good thing going, and more, would want to make sure that I was happy and satisfied when I did need to use their service. Nothing could be further from the truth. After hours of arguing with both my agent and the “Claims Adjuster” I have given up. The amounts for the replacement parts the “Inspector” wrote down were all $20-40 lower than the real dealer price, and he attempted to force us into using one of their “Pro Shops”. After my ranting I was told that I could take it to our local Honda shop, however, what was not told to us was, we would have to pay the difference between the “Pro Shop” price and what our dealer was going to charge. Funny, their “Pro Shop” price was $40.00 and hour. I don’t know any mechanic worth a damn who works for that amount, let alone a dealer. I have finally just given up trying to get any decent, ethical treatment and as soon as their clears, will be moving to another company. The stupid bullshit what was pulled on me has lost you a lot of money in the long run. Good luck with that business model.

Are you all ignorant? Just because your car gets damaged does not mean Allstate has to pay for all costs. Have you checked what recently how much you are covered for? Also, don't complain if Allstate didn't pay for all of your damages. If you did any research at all, you could have purchased additional coverage for underinsured motorists. You get what you pay for. Unfortunately, car insurance is costly. Become better defensive drivers and quit your yappin.

Allstate Insurance Company Northbrook, IL 60062

Dear Mr.Liddy:

In reference to claim number 3975275119, I am appalled at the way Allstate is handling my claim.

This is no way to service a customer of 20 years. I currently have Auto, Boat and Renters policies. I guess it is time to find another carrier. If I want to be treated like a Geico customer I will pay Geico rates.

I reported the accident on the day it happened. February 4th. Kim Verde contacted me on February 5th and I have heard nothing since then. I called on February 16 and spoke with Mike Lee the adjuster who in handling my claim. He told me that he is trying to find USED PARTS to repair my car. And no determination has been made yet if the car is repairable or a total loss. Two hours later I received in the mail a check for 5336.41 on the check it says “FINAL SETTLEMENT OF CLAIM UNDER COLLISION COVERAGE ARISING FROM ACCIDENT ON 02/04/01”, along with the check was an estimate from Redi-Review of Comsearch Inc. This estimate is missing some expensive items that will increase the repair cost significantly to the point where a total loss is probably warranted. I would like to know where I stand with an accurate estimate ASAP or if the car is to be totaled. I am with out a car currently as the rental car reimbursement I purchased is a joke at 20.00 a day.

I am forwarding this letter to my attorney as well as the insurance commissioner and the better business bureau.

Regards, Robert Ware

You should take the time to have a look into Sue Boenker Insurance, Fort Worth, Texas.\\ They have a phone in Visa service for payments, and they take the money, and say they never received it, and my bank statement reflects the withdrawal, and Allstate still says since I am 30 days late, and they do not show they ever got the payment, so I am cancelled. I gave a lady named Cathy my transaction code the system gave me and she was condescending that I even had it. She still has yet to call me with my money. I am writing the insurance commission after this letter is done. Now! Very Unhappy Pamela Thomsen Fort Worth Texas You have a problem.

I canceled my insurance policy when I bought a new car. I did this by calling my broker which I thought was the thing to do. The office manager Letty asked me a few questions on why I was cancelling it. I advised her that it was because they were to high and Wawanesa was more reasonable. They also did not take my name off of records that said that I had a claim open. I had closed that claim long time ago. The story with that is that my husband and I was in an accident I did not know what to do I called Allstate advised them of this and they opened a claim. I was not driving nor was my husband we were only passengers. I called Letty and she told me that she would close it out because I was not driving nor was it my car, and that it should of never been opened. Needless to say it was never closed. Now they are trying to charge me $232.90 for two months that I had cancelled it. Do you know what is so funny though, I had paid my payment and they did not credit it to my account because Letty forgot to punch it in but she cashed my check. Anyway they said that they were cancelling me this was seven days after my payment was due, so you are telling me that it took them two months when I did not pay for them to cancel me. Something is not right. So I called Letty up she said to bring up my new policy so that she can see when it took effect and then they would wipe out the amount. So I bring it up and it gave her the dates that she needed and she had the gull to tell me that I still owed the money because she does not remember when I called her. I am very unhappy right now, and they need to fix this because I am not paying it.

My home caught fire in July of this year and it has been the worst three months of our lives. Your company so far hasn't been so bad but I think this is getting ready to change. Your insurance agent is definitely not for the person that pays your salary or his either. The construction company that he uses has charge double what it should have cost (which makes me really think something is up) and the adjustor I think has fallen off the side of the world. He's never seen nor heard from and If we have a question, he's less then put out by answering it. Do you all realize it is because of us that YOU HAVE A JOB? I wish I'd known about this web site before I "signed on the dotted line".

To all the morons who have said that Ed Liddy does not work for Allstate anymore, check the official site, www.allstate.com. He is still listed as "chairman, president, and CEO". It is of some note, though, that he's something like the 7th face on that page, despite holding this high status. Trying to hide the face of Ed Liddy? Oh, I think so. Those of you who said he retired, check your facts and get a brain. You're just useless tools for the machine.

This is a complaint against one of their agents office in Pasadena Maryland, where the secretary refused to give me a FR19 form for a 86Celeica, I had put on their insurance, the secretary gave me one for a 87 Celica that I junked, she tried to get me to give her a months premium in cash after I was already paid up, she wanted cash for the FR19 form to pocket, Now they are sending me a bill for $80.22 that I don't even owe, threatening to turn me over to a collection agency, and that's from Bob Evans the agent.

Edwardo Liddy told the world at the last board of directors meeting. That the Allstate agents were going to run their own business's. I do not trust that snake.. Do you think that we will see it in writing? will we ever get a agency standards manual with the new corrections? If we don't see it soon, we can forget it. What about Sears selecting Hartford Insurance to do their insurance. This is the crowning blow to Liddy. His former company slaps him in the face. I can see that sears really did know Liddy. They want no part of him or his Hitler tactics. Four of the members of the sears board of directors also serve on the Allstate b of d. Can they serve two masters? When can we get their resignations? Hey, what is happening with the "wonderful California Opt-outs"? Every agent who works for Allstate ought to write to those guys and thank them for their courage. It is because of them that Allstate has changed some of the doings. I understand that they go to trial in 5 months. That is so cool, I have a feeling that a jury will really go after Allstate for the way they do business. Go, opt-outs. May god bless and you with tons of money. You deserve it.

We are notifying the High Commander and your stooges that your Jobs are in Jeopardy (JIJ). Your job performance is a disgrace to the hard working Allstate employees everywhere. You are also violating the due diligence clause. If there is no improvement in the next 90 days, your jobs will be terminated. I was a 15 year Allstate Agent who has recently escaped the lies. Firing 6,000 of your best agents was a big mistake! Agents are in the "Profit Dept." of every insurance company. You and the B of Ds are in the "Loss Dept." because of your obscene salaries and incompetence. I have seen Allstate hire the best employees only to see them destroyed by your vicious management policies. Your continued use of the Teachings of the Church of Scientology are prime examples of these policies. The deception in the Press Releases continues. Allstate has not had 15,500 U.S. Agents since the early 1990's. An Agency Manager told me that Allstate had less than 14,000 agents in 1995. You will know the final numbers in July of who stayed and who left of the 6,000 who were fired last November. I believe that you are losing 30% of the best! Approximately 1,800 agents! How is Allstate going to grow in the next two to three years with less agents? The investment community doesn't even believe the lies any more. They sold off the stock long ago. It leaked out of the West Central Region (Denver) this spring that Allstate was in "Liquidation Status" when the stock hit $17.18 per share! Hmmm! The 2000 Annual Report says Allstate has $98 billion in assets. The current market value of all the common stock is $16 Billion. A hostile take over should lie ahead. All of your changes have the significance of "re-arranging the chairs on the Titanic" To the remaining Allstate employees I say, save your life and your family. ABANDON SHIP NOW! Mr. Liddy is nothing but a change agent. He has been placed here to do exactly what he is doing. I have seen this in other corporations that I have worked for. He will destroy, downsize, manipulate the truth, become the target of all the slings and arrows and then, one day, to the wonder of all of the employees (who are left) he will resign. Ed Liddy will move on and change another company so it will be prepared for global merger or such. He is a paid hit man. Once all this is done, another CEO will ride in on a white horse, make a few concessions and everyone will shut up again.

The only problem with all this is many living, breathing, real people who feed their families through employment at Allstate, suddenly find it impossible to make a living or are already laid off. Many people invested a lot of money to start agencies that are now forced to throw in the towel. Many of us left other companies on the promise of great potential, only to find it all a great lie. We are no different than millions of people who are watching the destruction of free enterprise in exchange for the global good.

There are many Ed Liddys out there. If it had not been him, it would have been somebody else. Paid corporation killers is all they are. Ed sleeps just fine at night. As soon as he cleans house a little, he can cash out, hide out a while, then go on to another fat corporation juicy for destruction.

Ed, you are killing dreams, you are killing lives, you are wrecking homes. Have a nice sleep Ed.

Hi Mr. Liddy, I was involved in an auto accident (One of your insureds was following me to close and hit me while I was stopped at a signalized crosswalk waiting for an old lady to cross the street). Your rude and nasty adjusters lied and tried to cheat me. I will just have to sue the insured. They can deal with you as well.

I went to an Allstate claims office and was able to get one of your adjusters to talk to me "off the record", human to human. He told me that he was only following orders, and told me about this web site. Here I am and I am not surprised to see all the complaints. This is a true example of freedom of speech.

I make a promise to you and I won't break it! I hold you PERSONALLY responsible for cheating me. You can't hide behind a desk. You have the power to stop the lying and cheating in your claims offices. Here is my plan.

Every time you leave your residence or your office, look around you. Will I be there to greet you? Will I have a smiling face? What will I look like? Where are your friends, family? Will you care? Will you know what I will say to you?

I am a "law abiding" cop and "To protect and to serve" is my motto. I will get my "record" straight with you. Legally. Think about it. Maybe a little "cop talk" in your neighborhood will make you feel more comfortable.

You know that you will be safe with me nearby. I will make sure that your legal rights are protected. Now think about it and think about me. Think, think, think.

I was recently involved in an accident with one of your clients.. he rear ended me while I was sitting at a stop light. I was not a fault in anyway which your local company acknowledged.. however, the damage to my car was over a $1000 (I got this estimate from a repair shop your company sent me to), then they denied they ever sent me there because they said Allstate would only pay $374 and that was it.. anything over that I was on my own. I dealt briefly with your local office, but found them to be the biggest bunch of lying, nasty people its been my displeasure to meet. I have since file complaints with the Better business Bureau, Calif State Insurance Agency, I have Filed a suit against you with my Lawyer, and took action against you though my own Insurance company. I find that your company has an absolute absence of mind in this matter.. For in the long run it is going to cost you more then if you would have paid the original bill. I have now found it my life's duty to tell everyone that will listen, NOT to ever sign up with Allstate. Yours, J.R. Benckert.

WASHINGTON, March 27 (Reuters) - Allstate Corp. gave its chairman, president and chief executive Edward Liddy a $538,873 bonus last year, less than a third of the bonus he received in 1998.

In 1998, when Liddy was president and chief operating officer, he received a $1.7 million bonus, according to Allstate's proxy filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday.

Still, Liddy's compensation package for 1999 rose 57 percent to $3.91 million last year, including $2.47 million in long-term incentive payouts and an $890,000 salary, according to the filing by the nation's largest publicly-held personal lines insurance firm. *********** allstate employee: My increase was 4 percent...amounting to a whopping $100 a month. I'm getting a very clear message that my long hours and hard work are not important.

This company has already gone to hell. Allstate has got to be the most corrupt company in the country. Our Management needs to be purged, from the AMs all the way up. These men are destroying lives. Its bad enough what they have done to our reputation, stock price, and credibility. Now, they seek to ruin the careers of thousands of long term Agents. Agents have always been Allstates strength, but under the Liddy Regime.....they are perceived as a threat to Eds bottom line. These men have built large books of business helping thousands of people with high quality service. What do these men get under the liddy regime? These men get pissed on. They are told they must accept "contracts" that are not worth a piece of used toilet paper. If they don't comply, they are fired. Meanwhile, they have to pay for 95% of all office expenses out of their own pockets. You would think that this would make them independent businessman (the company even calls them independent contractors), but it is all a sham. The company is still in control. They no longer provide benefits and they get to pass on the expense of doing business to the agent himself, thus increasing Eds bottom line. These same managment people then turn around and tell lie after lie about the new contract, saying that all agents can run their office as they see fit. Then the company puts in agency standards, one of the biggest farces to ever see print. Allstate gets to make up the rules as they go along. Does anyone in this company concern itself with Business Law or the Insurance code? Allstate is in violation of both. These men think that they can solve all their problems with money. Since they have so much money, they feel they can do whatever the hell they want. They have even bought Mr Quackenbush here in California. They will stop at nothing to line their pockets with power and money. To them the Allstate agent is nothing more than a burger flipper. As long as he produces, he can be left alone. But if he does not, the company will be watching over his shoulder and mumbling threats of termination. We now come to another sad chapter in the continuing decline of a once great company. Im not stretching the truth when I say this. Agents will now be tracked on their performance. Some of these process are already in place. Our new computer system will be able to track all incoming and outgoing phone calls. Does the Department of Justice know about this? Perhaps I shall enlighten them. The biggest farce is that agents will now be held accountable if a client has a claim in the first 30 days! IM not joking. Allstate will hold my agent accountable for following the company's own guidelines!? This is a bunch of B.S.. This is only the tip of the iceberg for these bastards. I used to scoff at some of the horror stories I would hear about clients claims. Now, I believe anything is possible for this company. Money and greed are the only thing Allstate cares about anymore. Power is the only thing that might be a bigger motivator. These management people are trying to control EVERY little thing we do. Its starting to really piss us off. Agents made the company great and those heartless thugs in charge of the company now seek to destroy the agency force. Ed liddy tells us that we are vital to the companies success. What he doesn't say is that we are vital only if we follow orders and accept his distorted musings and madness. Allstate is management run amok. I would like nothing more than to see these bastards humbled and brought to justice. Many good agents are leaving this madness and I cant blame them. My agent and myself are holding out, praying for deliverance; When the Allstate company is forced to OBEY THE LAW. We need to get these evil managers out of this company. All of them have lost their focus. Allstate could be good again, but it wont happen until we cut out the scientologist black heart at its center. Hang in there agents. The revolution is near. Allstate will get theirs and Liddy will be brought down. All the other sell out managers who don't quit this madness shall be thrown out with him. Justice will prevail. The truth will come to light. For the good of the agents, the good of the employees, and our loyal customers...It MUST be so.

It's interesting Mr Liddy that the field vice president for the Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio region leaves his job after only five months on the job. Maybe he finally wised up and realized where the company is heading-- to HELL in a hand basket. I hope you get yours Mr. Liddy, I see what you do to the agents everyday. You'd better hope the rates in May are better than they are now or you may have a major problem on your hands. Amen to the agent talking about the WONDERFUL NOVA system we were given. It now takes TWICE as long for things to get done and with more mistakes. As for the new computers and phone systems we are to receive I believe it's just another way to make sure we are in "compliance" with all of Allstate's BS. Sleep well Mr. Liddy, we're all watching you.

I am a former paralegal for staff counsel for a major Southern California Insurance company. I was rear ended by one of Allstate's insureds. I have a Nissan Altima and I was rear ended by a Honda Passport SUV. I had over $2,000 in damage. To make matters worse, I had to bring my car into one of the "preferred" shops, have the car inspected and then drive may car until the body shop got the parts in because Allstate claims that they have a new policy that they will not pay for a rental until the parts are in. Furthermore, they wanted to use generic parts and not oem to save them even more money. In addition, they claimed I was not injured when they had no evidence to the contrary. The adjuster refused to return my calls and then lied about that (Big fuckin surprise, a lying adjuster). A bio mechanical expert used by my former employer, and also used by Allstate, stated that Allstate was full of shit and even told this to some of the higher ups. I went to small claims court and Allstate sent an adjuster down to tell their insured what to tell the judge (including that I was not injured). No evidence was introduced that I was not hurt. Allstate claimed the impact was "Minimal" even though I had $2000 in damage. The judge thought I had a lot of damage and could see how I was hurt. Needless to say, Allstate did not appeal the judgment in my favor.

Ed Liddy, like many of his processors and others that surround him are as corrupt as any organized crime syndicate and should be investigated, prosecuted as such.. A time has come unfortunately for Federal regulation on the insurance industry and the MCarran_Feguson act to be abolished. The States are in most case's doing a terrible job by to many insurance commissioners being paid off and contributions from insurance companies to commissioners and most especially in Calif. under Quackenbush.. When you take money, you owe favors..

Its another glorious day at Allstate. After nearly laughing myself silly over a copy of Ed defending the stock price, I turn to my duties of assisting my brave customers. You see, my customers are very brave people. They have purchased an Allstate policy after all. As I scan my desk, I decide to go thru the pile of Endorsements that sit on my desk. This pile represents the efficiency of the service department since Ed has been swingin the axe. Three customers have random policy increases, another is missing a discount that the lovely computer wont allow me to apply. Yet another client is missing a vehicle that I have attempted to add to his policy manually 3 times. Credit Lapses are not processed, conversions to the new format alter premiums, and some changes are just MIA. Manual requests take 30-40 days now, and get on your knees and pray if you need something "rushed." Clients policies are randomly terminated, then reinstated in a slow painstaking wait. These reinstatements then have credits misapplied to other insureds, having nothing to do with the client in question. Mortgagees disappear from policies. The list goes on and on. I do not blame the support people...the blame lies with Liddy himself. Coupled with processing backlog and errors, is another nightmare...the NOVA computer system. They say we are getting new desktop computers this year. Problem is, they are engineered by the same people. Did Apocalypse Now have a sequel? Anyway, I digress. With all of these problems in our processing...things which inhibit production, hinder service, and create potential E&O exposures...I have to salute Ed Liddys new business model as a monument to galactic stupidity. Has anyone read the Dilbert comic strip? Almost all of them can be examples of Allstate Management. Some of them are dead on (Our Strategy is a HUGE mistake, but we are doing it anyway!). When I called my "Area Manager" recently to ask if he could expedite the Alstar Support people into getting our Records system back online, his response was typical Allstate. I said, "IM losing 3 policies today because I cant get the driving records back..and they need the insurance today." His response was, "Well, its that way all over." Maybe that's the problem with Allstate Management. We look at Ed Liddy and see the scientologist in its "purest" form. Its that way with all Allstate Managers, all across the country. Bunch of Evil vermin. Hang in there Agents, the revolution is near.

You have a lot of nerve closing the Sunbelt Support Center, yet now to turn around and annouce the opening and future hiring of over 700 people in a center outside of Northbrook. Do you really expect us to believe that we are "still" in "good hands"

Whilst down the local bookmine, perusing "The Bezels of Wisdom" by Ibn Al' Arabi, I spied "The Progressive I Ching" and, since I had three coins in my pocket and had been thinking of Ed Liddy, cast them to scry his fortune. It was Amazingly on the money. To quote the result:

Hexagram 50 -- The Cauldron

===========================

It is of great concern to the superior man when inferior men hold positions of authority for which they are not suitably endowed. Where inferior men hold superior positions, they make the wrong judgments and cause mistakes which have consequences which can spiral through generations, even centuries. The ideal position is that where superior men hold superior positions. Their authority is equal to their strength, judgment, sincerity, humility and moral rectitude. They are the true servants of the people.

The inferior man is weak, arrogant, selfish and morally embryonic. He does not wish to serve; he wishes to control. His qualities are not equal to his position. He cannot grasp the interrelatedness of events and cannot follow the consequences of his decisions into every sector of society over which he has power. He does not understand the effects of his actions.

Clearly stated here is the distinction between the ruler who serves (the superior man) and the ruler who delights in control (the inferior man). Structures which attract the latter man are tyrannous.

Mr. Liddy: Do the right thing - resign. The profits generated the last 5 years all came from internal cuts - there is nothing left to cut and you and your gang of thieves, lining your pockets with stock options, are just plundering the company. You cut our people, you cut our benefits, you gut our 401K's by driving our stock into the toilet with your clueless "leadership." Then you make us watch a video with you, Groot, and Cohen telling us what great guys you are followed by a "reminder" that employees can be terminated for talking to the media? Do you have any idea how much contempt the rank and file employees have for you?

The following says it all, Ed...look what you've done...AGAIN!!! Probably the only way for Allstate to survive is to be sold. What a sad state of affairs you've put this company in!!! I wouldn't want to face the angry mob at the stockholders' meeting. You'd better resign before that meeting...or else hire a bodyguard.

WALL STREET FINALLY DISCOVERS THAT LIDDY IS A LOSER

ALLSTATE'S PROFIT TUMBLES BY 44% - INSURER'S STOCK FALLS 10% ON NEWS

SmartMoney MAGAZINE, FEBRUARY 9, 2000 (EXCERPTS) Has Mighty Allstate Become Takeover Bait? by Lawrence Carrell: "ALLSTATE (ALL) NEEDED ITS "good hands" and more to cover its unmentionables this morning. That's where analysts were aiming their kicks after the insurance giant announced a 42% decline in fourth-quarter net income."

"Legg Mason Wood Walker analyst Hugo Warns III who wrote: "This morning we are finally throwing in the towel and downgrading shares of Allstate. The primary impetus is loss of confidence in the management team and on its ability to effectively execute the business plans.'

Given the depth of the problems and the defection or retirement of key executives, Warns said the only solution 'is for the company to be acquired and for the new parent to break the management gridlock and start over, a scenario we consider likely given the turmoil and all-time low valuation.' "

"In downgrading the stock today, Salomon's Frank concluded that 'the most likely positive catalyst that we can envision over this time frame would be a sale of the company, which does not seem to us a strong enough probability to justify maintaining our Buy rating.' "

NEW YORK, FEB 10 (REUTERS) JP Morgan said on Thursday it cut property-casualty insurer Allstate Corp. to market performer from long-term buy. Cut 2000 EPS estimate to $2.55 from $2.80, posted 2001 estimate of $2.65. Expressed concerns over success of restructuring. Sees earnings risk with flat and incipient claims inflation. Allstate shares closed on Wednesday at three-and-a-half year low of 19-15/16.

THE MOTLEY FOOL The State of Things at Allstate By Brian Graney (excerpts) (TMF Panic) February 9, 2000 Browbeaten property and casualty (P&C) insurance investors looking for an inkling of relief amid a drawn out slide in industry earnings and business results received little in the way of good news from major player Allstate Corp. (NYSE: ALL) today. The "You're in Good Hands" people slapped their shareholders in the face with lower Q4 earnings, which fell to $0.66 per share (excluding charges) from $0.78 per share a year ago.

NAPAA ISN'T "CHICKEN LITTLE" It's difficult for us not to say "We told you so!" However, we really can't help it. NAPAA, through its publications, DirectWriter magazine and DirectExpress newsletter, has repeatedly explained to its members, the Street and Allstate's board of directors that Liddy is not suitable as the CEO of Allstate.

How can he be? Liddy is merely a glorified numbers cruncher, a retread from a retail environment; Sears. He and the other senior managers at Sears put in place those strategies that have led Sears to where it is today: Fighting for its existence.

Sears dumped their catalog, got rid of professional sales types, cut expenses by dubious strategies and set in place policies and processes that led to, among other things, a flood of lawsuits, regulatory actions and finally an admission of guilt to a felony charge. Ah, but Liddy had left Sears and joined Allstate before all those misguided actions bore their bitter fruit. However...

He brought with him an infectious disease. This disease is an attitude, a way of thinking. It has to do with "Searsthink", numbers and an arrogance based on power, on money. Since his crossover to Allstate in 1994, he has been part of the Company's senior management team and the disease he carried began to show its symptoms almost immediately.

Never before has Allstate been subjected to so many lawsuits, regulatory scrutiny, agency force turmoil and loss of reputation. It began slowly, barely noticeable, until now it has become a freight train loaded with trouble. Some of senior management have leapt off this out-of-control train: Lou Lower, Bob Gary and most recently Bruce Marlow, who jumped after only eight months!

The truth is that Liddy is at the controls, he's the engineer. And where is Allstate's board of directors, the ones who are supposed to be responsible for the overseeing of Allstate? Maybe they got left at the station. Or, maybe they're in the caboose. The fact that several of them also have the Sears disease, particularly Ed Brennan, James Denny and Warren Batts, could explain their lack of action.

Perhaps the board needs just a little more proof of Liddy's Sears mentality. We suggest you read the most recent issue of Crain's Chicago Business, February 14 issue: "How Sears Fumbled Home Services Biz." The parallels are uncanny - unless you know Liddy's background.

We ask Allstate's board of directors to do their duty: Fire Liddy and get someone as CEO who understands the insurance business. One who has a solid moral and ethical base. One who respects those who put their life's blood into making Allstate great. Please - no more numbers crunchers or retail types.

I brought some insurance from Allstate not to long ago this year and when I lost my job I couldn't pay the insurance anymore. Now they're telling me that I owe them 230.00 dollars for not canceling my insurance. I was told that once you stop paying your insurance they have to cancel it. Why did they keep me insured? I didn't file any claims or had any accidents. Now I owe them Is this fair? Please help quickly

Editors Note:  Gloria,  Call your agent & remind him that Allstate doesn't pay claims if the payments are late.  Find some of the people that have been denied claims on our complaint page for late payments, e-mail them & ask them to give you a notarized letter to use in court as to what Allstate does if you are late with a payment.

Gloria, I just found this article.  It may be helpful.  I will e-mail it to you too.

I would not trust this company at all. and Since my departure from the company I have received no less than 3 mailed solitications to my home from Allstate wanting my business for Parts & Labor and Allstate Motor Club. Obviously Allstate insurance has made it legal to cause accidents by turning right from the left hand lane striking ME traveling in the right hand lane, pushing paperwork around pretending to be working then stand-up and say they are not responsible. Allstate has fixed their insurers car but has not even LOOKED AT MINE. Which I just purchased Two months prior to this. I made the mistake of saving money by not taking full-coverage and just taking liabilty. I now know better than to assume the proper person will take responsibility. I thought this was a country that helped its citizens to not get taken advantage of by big industries. I have a new car which I still have to make payments on but that wont run!!!! The damages are $7500.00 which is now more than I can afford but still have to pay for!! Because of Allstate (you) I have no transportation which means I cant go to college and work so I had to drop college and pray I found a way to work everyday. In two years when my child asks me for something YOU explain to them that you screwed me out of my car and my college degree and I had to pay for it all!!!!!!!!!!

Edward Liddy, all agents are finding out how you got to be CEO of Allstate. Agents, did you know that Ed Brennan who is on the board of directors, used to be ceo of Sears, it was Brennan who hired Liddy at Sears. It was he who is responsible for liddy being where he is today. So, you see it is vital that we write letters to the BOD protesting that Brennan is on the BOD also protest how liddy is ruining allstate. Isnt it convenient that the two of them are on the board of directors? Agents if you dont write you are saying to the world and your family, "it is ok for liddy to screw us every day"....by your silence you are condemning this great company and the rest of the agency force. Be brave write letters, let your feelings be know. Be like the brave and wonderful california opt-outs who challenged this giant and beat him. Write your letters today.

Dear Sirs:

I went into the Athens Georgia, Allstate Office in Athens Georgia operated by Keith Heard on December 27th 1999 to make a payment on my Automobile Insureance. I amde a a payment of $75.00. Of which I thought was correct. My Policy number 095547762 was canceled on the very same day. The woman that works there in the office accepted my payment and never mentioned that my policy was about to be terminated. I feel there was a mistake in payment, on my part of an amount that I was not aware of. The woman in the office was less than professional she was deeply engaged in personal converation with another woman while customers were waiting to service their policies. I feel that if I was going to let my policy cancel I would not have paid anything on the day the ploicy was canceled. This is the worst thing that has ever happened with me since I have been with Allstate. I have been a customer with Allstate sine 1985. I have a life insurance policy and a home insurance policy with Allstate. It should have become clear to this woman there was something wrong, if I am making a payment and my isurance is about to cancel. I need assistance in this matter urgently.

Mr. Liddy and Associates please pay attention to this message. Agents are hard working people. We made this company a great company, you and your management did nothing to make it great. We would not mind working Saturdays and the extra hour each day. But, can you not see that it is a waste of time. You may not care about this because it is the agent who is paying for the extra 36 hours a month that we have to work. It would not be a bad idea, if we wrote at least one policy on Saturdays. But, decent human beings do not think about insurance on saturdays. It is a day to spend with the family. It is a day to rest and refresh oneself to start again on mondays. PLEASE...STOP THE SATURDAYS OPENINGS....IT IS A WASTE OF TIME....IF YOU STOP IT...WE WILL HELP YOU BUILD THIS COMPANY UP...THE STOCK WILL INCREASE QUICKLY

Attn: Edward Liddy...If you think that agents are going to service policys sold over the internet or on an 800 number. You are more stupid than we thought you were. Anyone who comes into my office for service from the internet will receive crummy service if any service at all. Can you imagine, an agent will receive $8 service fee on a $400 policy sold over the internet or 800 number. What a slap in the agents face. Agents, make your thoughts known, about this great injustice. Again, agents keep writing to the BOD and let them know how we feel. IT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE. WE MUST TELL ANYONE WHO LISTEN ABOUT THE NEGATIVE LEADERSHIP THAT LIDDY IS GIVING ALLSTATE.

Well, Mr. Liddy, the agents aren't going to sit around and take what you and your cronies are dishing out. You'd better be prepared at the stockholders' meeting to pack your things up and get out. The company's stock is still going down, there is very little growth, there are numerous customers who have been screwed (and are still being screwd), and the agents, who are the heart of the company and who really make the money so you can live in the lifestyle you have become accustomed to, are being screwed as well. You may want to have a bodyguard on hand to protect your life because right now as you are the most disliked person at Allstate. You took Sears down and now you're trying to take Allstate down too. This Scientology way of thinking has got to go, and the agents aren't going to stand for it. Get ready to rumble!

Ed Liddy...I know now how you got your job. You paid off Jerry Choate. I recall hearing that Choate gets 3 million a year consulting fees. Maybe you should listen to any council he gives you. You are ruining Allstate. Our stocks continues to stay at the bottom of barrel. We are now giving you notice, we will be at the next Board of Directors meeting to call for your resignation. If you had any b---s between your legs you would resign. The longer the stock stays where it is, the more our desire to get rid of you and your cronies that are trying to implement stupidity into our company. You had best start looking for another job because you will not last.

Agents, call all of the agents in your area and start a letter writing campaign to the board of directors regarding Liddy"s Resignation. Start calling all the agents in your area to advise them to attend the BOD meeting in large numbers to get Liddy dumped. If you don't get involved now, things will not change. If you remain silent, you are saying it is OK, for Liddy to screw us every day. Start writing tomorrow and start asking agents to prepare to go to the BOD this year. I honestly believe this will have a great impact on getting rid of Liddy, God Bless and charge forward.

My husband and I have had Allstate Insurance coverage (auto and home) for the last 14 years but no more. During that period, we had no claims on our home and 2 or 3 minor claims on vehicles. In March of this year, we removed one of the vehicles due to a loss, replaced it and then another vehicle was sold. More changes were made in August and the problems just snowballed. As of this date, December 28, our agent says it has finally been corrected (but we haven't seen a bill that shows the right autos yet). While Allstate was supposedly trying to get this fixed, the company said we didn't have to pay anything until it was straight. We chose to wait until it was fixed -- what a mistake! After 3 months of not paying a premium, Allstate threatens to drop us if we don't pay 3 times what we actually owe them! Do you think that scares us, Mr. Liddy? Not at all. It just sends us to another insurance company who is all too happy to service our needs. It's a sad state of affairs when Allstate can't correct insurance information after attempting to do so for 9 months. Well, you can abuse customers for only so long...

Mien fuehrer Edward Liddy:  He terminated 6500 employee agents with out a clear direction, a typical move. I was at one of Allstate meetings recently and management pretty much said they could pick and choose the buyers of your book of business so they could further there own monetary agendas and promotion agendas and if they didn't like you or your buyer it would be a totally subjective process. It goes to the days of the nazis, if you disagree with my illegal activities, then I will shoot you. In Ohio manage case the gun is time and they will hold it over your head in order to accomplish their own personal agenda not the companies. The management continues to use the church of scientology in all there decisions. my partner was at meeting and Allstate.

Ed Liddy is the ceo of the allstate insurance company. One of the Major objectives if to grow the company profitably. However, If I were Mein Furer Liddy, I would have a look at what is happening to our stock. Under his leadership or lack of it, we are going under. Liddy's idea of Multi-channel crap is going to be his down fall. The sooner the better. The agency standards are very communistic, if an agent operates an office with just him and a unlicensed staff. He cannot afford to get sick, or have a stroke or have a heart attack, because he will be terminated. I can run a hundred scenarios where our lives have been effected by the agency standards. I do not do much with my family anymore because I am at the office. Look, Mr. Liddy is you are going to treat me like an employee, GIVE ME BACK MY BENEFITS....I hope the california opt-outs do not settle with our rulers, I hope they go to trial and become millionaires. Any jury will severely punish our slave masters with a tremendous amount of punitive damages. If there is a hell, please god, reserve a spot for Mr. Ed Liddy. (please make the spot next to mr. hitler.) Agents lets stick together and we can over come our current situation.

Mr Liddy is a cowardly backstabbing thug. He has taken control of Allstate with the same gusto that Hitler and Mussolini had. He is destroying the Agency force by ruining the agents lives and lining his own pockets with the agents money. He has half baked ideas about extra hours and internet sales. The entire upper management of this company is OUT TO LUNCH. I can't speak for whats happening with clients, because most of ours are treated very well, but with these Nazis running this once great company, I believe anything is possible for these bastards. I have watched my boss become a bitter agent. He used to be so positive and upbeat. Everything Liddy has done has been a sham and it is ruining LIVES. Allstate is like a great ocean liner in the North Atlantic plunging blindly into the darkness of the night. There is no one on the bridge and one of these days its going to hit that big iceberg of a law suit. I hope my boss beats these guys in the court room and I hope that our clients stand up and fight these bastards for every penny, if they are cheated. You Mr Liddy, are a liar and a coward; hiding behind an army of evil attorneys and bribes. I pray for justice for all the veteran agents. I pray for justice for all the clients. I pray for your removal and even your arrest. All of you Allstate managers are just as guilty of tainting the company and diminishing its image and trust. How you sleep at night is beyond me. If the stock keeps dropping, maybe a honest company will buy us and put you guys on the street. I will say "GOOD RIDDANCE!"

Ed Liddy is a certified Scientologist, he manages by intimidation and terror. I really would like to know why we are forced to open Saturdays and 1 hour later during the week. Re: saturdaya....I as all Allstate agents have been open Saturdays since July. We have sold exactly 1 policy. It was a renters policy, which since lapsed. I know that now that the Saturdays openings and the extra hour during the week, are strictly designed to show control and power over the agency force. I assure Liddy that this will backfire in the very near future. I encourage agents from all over the country to come to the next board of directors meeting and ask for Liddy's resignation. He is ruining Allstate as he almost did to Sears. For the life of me, I cant figure out, why people allow him to remain in power. Lets get him out.

Under Liddy's leadership Allstate is being sued every other day. I understand that the California opt-outs are all set to go to trial against Allstate. Rumor has it that the opt-outs are going to go to trial. If they do go to trial, I think any jury will severally punish this criminal outfit. I hope the opt-outs, do go to trial and do not accept a settlement from this criminal outfit, if they go to court they will be rich. Go get 'em opt-outs. Do not settle...

Editors Note:  I hear there is a trial date set.  The opt-outs have already refused what Allstate called a settlement.  Our hats off to these Agent warriors.   Their bravery will make a difference.

Liddy is forcing agents in California to sell a product called Parts & Labor. This is a hard sell product and clients don't see this as a value. If we don't sell 6 P & L policies between now and december31 we will a have negative letter put in our personal files. I wonder if Mr. Liddy has purchased a parts & labor policy on his vehicles?

After reading numerous e-mail material and listening to ex-customers and ex-employees of Allstate (both agents and salaried), I would highly suggest Mr. Liddy better watch his backside. This is a very hated man who seems to have an agenda for his own personal monetary growth, and it is obvious that he, nor his upper management, have any feelings toward people. This is definitely the Scientologist's way of thinking, and it is NOT a good thing. So why isn't the Board of Directors getting involved in the running of Allstate, especially since Allstate's stock is still dropping? I can only pray that all of the agents and employees can get out and find their own insurance nitch whereby they can work for a more compassionate company and whereby the agents can really be their own bosses. My prayers are with all of the customers who have been unfairly dealt with, the numerous employees who just got fired, and the agents who now have to decide whether or not they want to stay with such an ugly company, especially those who have been with the company for a long time, and now are being treated like dirt. I will never, ever recommend Allstate to anyone I know. People deserve to be treated much better than the way Mr. Liddy and his cronies have treated the employees and customers of Allstate.

So, you want to know Allstate's (Ed Liddy's) policies:

Allstate Insurance does not follow it's own policy mandating objective investigations. They will not investigate or pursue leads that will prove favorable to policy holders. Their demands are usually unreasonable and in direct conflict with the terms of their policies. Allstate engages in patterns of manufacturing and pursuing only leads that are adverse to their insured's. Their investigations are usually outcome oriented towards denial of claims, and sometimes, towards malicious prosecutions which, if you are lucky, can be over-come by being innocent, one fact that Allstate really doesn't care about. Allstate Insurance targets pre-selected percentages of their claims pay-outs to substantially boost immediate profits and give upper management very large bonuses. If consumers commit fraud against Allstate Insurance, they are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. But, when Allstate Insurance commits fraud against consumers, by denying legitimate claims, they get VERY, VERY WEALTHY! For over two decades, Allstate Insurance has relentlessly lobbied the U.S. Congress and state legislatures to restrict the ability of consumers to obtain relief through the legal system for non-payment of claims caused by insurer fraud and corruption. And with their STOLEN BILLIONS, they have been successful, lining the pockets of most politicians. The records show that expense and delays are usually the result of deliberate attempts by Allstate to avoid disclosure of critical information revealing insurer fraud and corruption. Allstate repeatedly abuses the pre-trial discovery process, ignoring the obligations imposed on them by plaintiffs' discovery requests and by orders of presiding trial judges. Allstate's abuse includes providing misleading responses to discovery requests. Allstate has sought to shield mountains of documents behind the attorney-client privilege, without demonstrating or even confirming that all such documents are subject to the privilege. Even when they have provided documents to plaintiffs, Allstate has often sought elaborate protective orders aimed at hiding damaging information from the public, the media, and government agencies -- as well as from other plaintiffs who file claims against them. And when Allstate faces likely defeat at trial, they sometimes demand, as the price for settlement, agreements by plaintiffs to seal for all time the records of a case -- including, sometimes, the transcripts of a public trial. Allstate often refuses to provide important information until ordered to do so by the presiding judge -- and often fail to comply even after such judicial orders are issued. They have blatantly concealed and destroyed documents relevant to insurance claims and cases. Now you know Allstate's (Ed Liddy's) policies.
